Quick Start

From signup to your first automated trade in about 5 minutes. No coding: if you can copy and paste, you can do this.

In simple words

You will do four things: make an account, connect MetaTrader 5, make an alert message, and paste that message into TradingView. After that, every time your TradingView alert fires, a trade opens in MetaTrader 5 by itself. (Not using TradingView, and want followers to copy the trades you make by hand on your PC or phone? What you need

  • •A TradingView plan that can send webhooks (Essential or higher - the free Basic plan cannot). TradingView also asks you to switch on 2-factor login for webhooks.
  • •A MetaTrader 5 account at any broker - start with a DEMO account while you learn
  • •A TradeHookX account. Every new account starts with a 7-day free trial - no card needed

Five steps

Create your account

Go to tradehookx.com and click Get Started. Pick a plan - you can switch for free during the trial:

  • •Starter - your own alerts on your own MetaTrader (PC or VPS)
  • •Advanced - also cloud terminals (no PC needed) and copying other traders
  • •Professional - also leading copy groups (other people copy you)

Your free trial includes 1 terminal, 1 copy group to follow and 1 copied trade. Your own alerts are not limited.

Connect MetaTrader 5 (a terminal)

A terminal is one MetaTrader 5 account that TradeHookX can trade on. Open Terminals in the sidebar and choose one of two ways:

  • •Cloud terminal (Advanced / Professional): we run MT5 for you 24/7. Click Add Cloud Terminal, pick your broker, type your account number, password and server. Done - see Cloud Terminals.
  • •Local terminal (any plan): you run MT5 on your own PC or VPS. Download the EA file, put it in MetaTrader and type your license key. See Local Terminal (EA).

Make the alert message in the Alert Builder

Open Alert Builder, click New Alert, choose your terminal, the action (for a strategy choose According to strategy) and a lot size, then save. Click Get JSON on the saved alert and copy the text.

Paste it into a TradingView alert

On your TradingView chart, create an alert. In the Notifications tab switch on Webhook URL and paste:

Then paste the copied text into the Message box and save the alert.

Test it

Back in the Alert Builder, click Test on your saved alert. It sends the same message through the whole system and REALLY trades (a strategy alert is tested as a buy of 0.01 EURUSD) - so use a demo terminal. Open Signal Log - you should see it as Executed within a second, and the trade appears in MetaTrader 5. Close the test trade afterwards.

Always try a new alert on a demo account with a small lot (0.01) before you let it trade real money.
